Great shot! I have to admit though that I don't know the Song, but was rather reminded of the Shadow King in Walter Moers's book "City of Dreaming Books" :)

I'm glad you like the connection :) It really comes very very close to the picture I had in mind while reading, even the red-orange sunlight looks almost like the paper is catching fire.

It's been too long since I last read the books... :D
I didn't plan to include the sunlight that way but I'm very very happy that it turned out that way because it strengthens the rebirth-thing that I wanted to show...

It's been quite a long time since I read it for the last time too...guess I really have to change that :D
The light fits brilliantly, it indeed looks like you've put a lot of effort into getting it like that so I'd say it's been one of those great incidences where something unplanned just falls into place. It emphasises the rebirth-motif quite a lot :)
